Fair Maps badges

Show that you back fair maps. Put the Fair Maps ring on your profile picture, or a badge on your website or campaign site.

Profile picture ring

Put the Fair Maps ring around your profile picture on social media. Choose a photo to see it in the ring and download it, or download the ring on its own.

Your photo stays on your device. It is never uploaded.

The Fair Maps ring

A profile picture can’t carry a link. This line gives people one to tap, so they can find the site and get the ring too.

For your website

Each badge is a picture with a link back here, with no script. When a page shows a badge, we note that page’s address, never who visited, and list the site on Sites that show the badge.

Put it on any page of your site and paste the code exactly as given. Its referrerpolicy part tells your visitors’ browsers to send us the page’s address; without it we can only find a badge on your home page. It usually shows up on the list within minutes, otherwise within a day. We check each site about once a day; if the badge is gone for two daily checks, the site comes off the list.

What we look for: any of our badges (an image from fairmaps.melson.us/api/badge) and a link to fairmaps.melson.us on the same page. Either wrap the image in a link, as the code below does, or keep the image and add a link to us anywhere else on the page. The image has to be in the page’s own HTML (an <img> tag), not added by a script. Older snippets that point at /badge.svg are not noticed.
